SHIRE Village Hall Grants
SHIRE Village Hall Grants for works to extend, refurbish or carry out major improvements
and repairs to existing village halls or to create new halls. These grants are available to registered
charities, Parish Councils and also to church halls where they serve as the village community centre.
Up to 50% (£8000 maximum) of the project cost is available which can be either in
the form of a grant of £4000 and / or a loan to a maximum value of £4000. Regular maintenance work is
not eligible for grant.
Grants put local people at the heart of community involvement with the choice, decision
making and leadership for community improvements placed firmly with communities themselves. The process
is set out in Community Involvement (pdf).
