Recycling & Household Waste SitesLeicestershire County Council provides 14 Recycling & Household Waste Sites for the public to use to dispose of their own household waste. To see information about each site either click on the map below or choose the site from the list.
No vans/trailers can tip without a permit. Apply for a permit

All sites are open seven days a week, 8am – 8pm (April to October) and 8am to 6pm (November to March).
Vehicles must be off-site by closing time.
All sites are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
Please do not visit the sites when they are closed. People caught tipping waste when the sites are closed are liable to prosecution.
These sites are provided for residents within Leicestershire in accordance with Section 51 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. These sites are for householders to dispose of their own household waste.
Household waste does not include
Waste from the activities of a trader or business
Hazardous wastes
Construction and Demolition waste, even if it is from your own home. Construction and Demolition Waste includes soil, bricks, rubble, concrete and fitted items of furniture such as wardrobes, kitchen units, etc.
Cement bonded asbestos from householders is only accepted at 5 sites, to request a free short term permit please call County Hall on 0116 305 7240

All Leicestershire residents are welcome to use the sites during the opening hours for the recycling and disposal of their own household waste. Users must follow all rules that apply to the site, including:
All waste must be pre-sorted to enable it to be recycled, and placed in the appropriate containers.
For safety, please keep children in cars, and be aware of other vehicles and users on the site
Assistance is available if required. Please ask.
If you can not climb the steps, or similar, and will require assistance, your waste must be safely packaged and no single item should weigh more than 25kg.
Vans, commercial type vehicles and trailers over 4’-6” are restricted on the sites. Drivers of these vehicles require a Permit before visiting the site.
