Park and ride summer discounts

A trip to the city during the summer holidays has got cheaper thanks to a special park and ride August discount.
A new £2.50 family ticket* is available until August 29 for up to five people travelling together.
The presentation of special leaflets – available from www.quicksilverbus.co.uk/summer or by calling 0116 305002 – will enable users to travel at the reduced rate.
The leaflets can be used at all three park and ride terminals – Birstall, Enderby and Meynell’s Gorse – and are valid after 9am, Monday to Friday.
Lesley Pendleton, Leicestershire County Council Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, said: “Families can have a great day out in Leicester during the summer holidays and using the park and ride provides a hassle free way of getting into the city centre.
“Not only that, but it is good value and an environmentally friendly alternative to the car.”
The park and ride is jointly run by Leicestershire County and Leicester City Councils.
*This offer is not available on Saturdays and the service will not run on Monday, August 27 (bank holiday). Terms and conditions apply.
