Climate change conference to be held
Experts in the field of climate change will host a conference in Loughborough on
Monday (April 16).
Local policy makers and practitioners have been invited
to attend the event called Climate Disadvantage: What is the social impact of climate
change?
Organised by Leicestershire Together in partnership with Leicestershire
County Council, Leicester City Council and Rutland County Council, it will bring together leading experts
to present their research findings and relate them to the local area.
The focus
will be on how climate change will affect people already facing poverty and disadvantage and how some
communities are likely to be more affected than others.
Speakers will include
experts from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, The University of Manchester and Climate East Midlands.
