A "write" Royal achievement

A woman who learnt calligraphy at a county council course has produced a certificate that will be signed by the Queen on Thursday.
Jane Lappage joined a Leicestershire County Council Adult Learning Calligraphy Saturday course back in 2007 and honed her skills over the following three years.

Jane became so proficient that she decided to set up her own web business called Calligraphy Arts in King’s Drive, Leicester Forest East.
Now, she has been commissioned to design a commemorative certificate that the Queen will sign when she visits Leicester Cathedral on Thursday (8th March).
The style of the artwork was chosen by the Diocese to match the "Arts & Crafts" pieces in the Cathedral. It has been framed in light oak and will be hung in the Cathedral for everyone to view from Friday 9th March.
Jane said: "I'm delighted to have the honour of producing this work for the Queen - I wouldn't have been able to do this if I hadn't attended those courses."
David Sprason, county council cabinet member for adult learning, said: "Jane is living proof of how our adult learning courses can change people's lives. To produce something for the Queen is a real achievement."
The certificate has a decorative border surrounded with 60 diamonds.
