Road Safety - Cycling and Walking to School

Cycling and walking to school is being encouraged as an alternative to travelling by car over short distances. Works such as wider footways, better pedestrian crossing points are carried out to make walking safer and easier. Cycle journeys are encouraged through better cycle routes and secure cycle storage at schools. The Council is keen to help schools develop and review School Travel Plans. Safer routes schemes may be installed to support active travel.
