Out of School Clubs

Service Description

All out of school and holiday daycare providers are required to register provision for children up to the age of 8. For those of school age, this will include provision in:

• Out of School Clubs
• Play Centres
• Holiday Play Schemes

However, playschemes which operate for five days or less per year, or for under two hours per day, do not have to register. The facilities provide play and care for school age children outside school hours. There are many models of provision for children of this age, including facilities run by local authorities, voluntary organisations, the private sector and employer sponsored provision. Web links:
