Mobile Phone  and Printer Cartridge Recycling

Approximately 15 million mobile phones will be bought from shops this year and over 12 million of these will end up in drawers, cupboards or in the bin in the next three years.
Leicestershire householders can recycle their unwanted mobile phones and printer cartridges and raise money for LOROS, Leicestershire and Rutland Organisation for Relief of Suffering and Rainbows Children's Hospice through a scheme run by the County Council and Office Green.
Mobiles and printer cartridges can be sent to Office Green to be recycled, please address the envelope:  Freepost RRAE-TGSG-XUAU, Office Green, Brentwood, CM13 1XA.
Mobile phone collection points are also located at all 14 Recycling and Household Waste Sites.

  • Market Harborough – Riverside Industrial Park, Market Harborough, Leics. LE16 7PT
  • Melton Mowbray – Lake Terrace, Melton Mowbray, Leics. LE13 0BZ
  • Oadby – Wigston Road, Oadby, Leicester, Leics. LE2 5JE
  • Shepshed – Hathern Road, Shepshed, Leics. LE12 9RP

SIM cards will be removed from phones and destroyed - but people are asked to do this before donating the phone. All working phones and those with minor problems will be refurbished and sold outside Western Europe. Phones that cannot be repaired are stripped and all components re-used or recycled.
