Elections and Voting

County Council elections are usually held on the first Thursday in May, once every four years, with 55 Councillors elected to represent electoral divisions and their communities. The next County Council election will be held on 2nd May 2013.
The current Council is controlled by the Conservative Group with the Liberal Democrats as the main opposition.
