The Medium Term Corporate Strategy to 2009 - Improving Life in Leicestershire
Aiming to improve your quality of life
Our second full Medium Term Corporate Strategy (MTCS) for the County Council covers our priorities for the four year period to May 2009. This focus on priorities is intended to help everyone be clear about what the Council wants to achieve. Progress against the targets will be monitored and published each year in the Council’s Annual Plan.
Following widespread consultation, our three key aims in the MTCS are to improve:
- The quality of life for people
- The quality of life in communities
- Services so they are high quality and value for money.
These aims underpin our vision which is:
‘We will listen to the views of Leicestershire people and, by working with them and our partner agencies, ensure they enjoy the quality of life which they expect; to live in a County and region which is safe, healthy, attractive and prosperous.’

Medium Term Corporate Strategy to 2005
The Medium Term Corporate Strategy sets out the Council's longer term objectives and lists a number of specific improvements to services that it wishes to make. The original Strategy was published in November 2001 and an updated version was agreed by the Council in July 2003. Both versions are available here.
High priority is attached to achieving these service improvements within the timescales indicated in the Strategy. They will therefore be the focus of member and management attention and receive priority in the allocation of resources and monitoring of performance.
