Leicestershire ‘Place Survey’ - Thousands asked for views on improving County

A wide-ranging survey is being sent to thousands of homes across Leicestershire this autumn to find out how to make the County a better place to live.
It is being carried out jointly by Leicestershire County Council and the District Councils on behalf of Leicestershire Together and the district Local Strategic Partnerships.
The survey in Leicestershire is one of hundreds happening across the country following new Government requirements.
The recipients, selected at random, have until 19th December to complete the ‘place survey’ which asks for views including:
  • What makes an area a good place to live
  • What most needs improving
  • Satisfaction with existing public services
  • How effective agencies are at working together to deliver improvements
  • How much residents get involved in community affairs such running local clubs.
The findings from this research will be used to see how well the County and District Councils and their partners, such as the Police and the NHS, are doing at delivering the services that matter to residents and to decide what needs doing differently in the future.
David Parsons, Leader of the County Council and Chairman of Leicestershire Together, said: “It is important that we get a good response to the new place survey. This will help us to identify how well agencies are working together to deliver improvements and what further improvements are needed.
“The form should only take about 20 minutes to complete and I would urge everyone who receives one to reply as soon as possible.”
