Equality Impact Assessments

We need to understand whether our services are meeting everyone’s needs and that everyone who needs them has access to those services. We have developed an Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) process for new and existing functions and policies.  An EIA will be carried out on new policies as they are developed and over time on existing functions and policies.
The diagram below illustrates the process.

As far as possible impact assessments will be carried out as part of the preparation for service reviews, or as part of the review and roll-forward of key medium and long-term service planning activity, or where major changes in service delivery are under consideration.
