Business Matters

Business Matters

Business Matters is a free quarterly trader newsletter. Designed to help the local business community in Leicestershire, Business Matters is packed with up-to-date, news and advice.
Businesses in Leicestershire can obtain free copies of Business Matters by sending an e-mail to the Trading Standards Service or by downloading a copy from this website in either Microsoft Word or PDF format.
Hard copies are also available on request from the Trading Standards Duty Officer.

Community Heritage Initiative Publications

The Community Heritage Initiative is working to encourage local communities to record and celebrate the biodiversity and natural heritage of Leicestershire and Rutland. Included in the list of publications are information leaflets, surveys, conservation tips and reporting forms.

Consumer Affairs

Consumer Affairs is a free quarterly newsletter that contains up-to-date news for consumers and is produced in conjunction with the Trading Standards Service. Each issue contains information including advice and tips on dealing with consumer problems, industry news affecting the consumer, product safety recall notices, survey results.

Education Publications

The free Education Publications include information about schools, special educational needs, useful addresses, bullying, making a complaint and the Parents and Carers Council.

Emergency Management Publications

The Emergency Management Section's newsletter is published quarterly and is aimed at a broad audience, including local authority members and officers, the voluntary agencies and members of the public.  It aims to raise awareness about contingency planning and emergency management, and it highlights issues that may be of interest to the target audience.

Freedom of Information Publication Scheme

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 will allow the public to access information held by local authorities. As the first step towards implementing the Freedom of Information Act, public authorities were required to produce a Publication Scheme.

Our newspaper Leicestershire Matters aims to ensure that local people are aware of the County Council’s vision and plans for the future.
It also promotes the activities of the County Council, shows our wide range of services, highlights the issues we are campaigning on and what we are doing to improve the lives of residents.
Leicestershire Matters also invites residents to give their views, contribute to consultations, join campaigns and get involved in activities and schemes.

Parish Walks Leaflets

There are over 20 Parish Walks Leaflets available free, each leaflet has written directions and a map indicating alternative routes.
This popular series of leaflets are suitable for a short afternoon stroll or a daylong walk. The routes are all circular and range in distance from 1 - 9 miles.
