Advice for Suppliers Receiving E-mail Purchase Orders

If you have any queries regarding the purchase order e-mailed to you by the County Council the following advice may be useful:

Recommended specification for receiving email with purchase order attachments is:

Adobe Acrobat Reader (minimum version 5.0). Purchase orders are distributed as e-mail pdf attachments.
An indication of purchase order attachment size is:-
  • Purchase order with 3 order lines approximately 7kb
  • Purchase order with 25 order lines approximately 20kb

If you need to print off the order you need to take the
following steps:

  • With Acrobat version 5 open the pdf attachment and click on the thumbnail link on the left hand side and then right click with the mouse on the page(s). This will display an option to print. If it is a multi page order you only need to click print on the first page and all pages will print off.
  • With Acrobat version 6, 7, 8 & 9 open the pdf attachment and right click with the mouse on the order. This will display an option to print. If it is a multi page order you only need to click print on the first page and all pages will print off.
If you are unable to open the order
You may need to download Adobe Acrobat reader software. A free version can be obtained by the following the icon below:

If you cannot access the attached order
Due to security settings blocking the e-mail attachment please contact your Internet service provider for general advice on system settings
If only part of the purchase order has opened/is visible
Please contact your Internet service provider for advice on why the full order details won’t open.
If you are unable to read the purchase order
Please contact your Internet service provider for general advice on why the order cannot be read.
If you have a query with the content of the order
Please contact the Leicestershire County Council contact (details are on the top left of the order) who raised the order.
If you have received an e-mail that is for another supplier
Please refer this to finsyscontrol@leics.gov.uk

To notify the Council of your change of e-mail address please contact us at payables@leics.gov.uk
