The Council is currently in the process of stregthening its Corporate Procurement Unit with a view to implementing a new category management structure from January 1 2008.

The Corporate Procurement Strategy to 2009 pdf (200kb) sets out the purchasing direction for the Council to 2009.

Current Purchasing Arrangements

The purchasing of commonly used goods and services is currently arranged, on the Council’s behalf by the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) a consortium of 7 member authorities including Leicestershire. ESPO supplies goods and services via its catalogue, via direct supply contracts or via its numerous framework agreements.
