Crime, Disorder & Drugs Audits 2004
|
Crime, disorder and drugs audits 2004The Crime and Disorder Act 1998, as amended by the Police Reform Act in 2002, placed a duty on a number of organisations, known as ‘responsible authorities’, to work in partnership to tackle crime and disorder and the misuse of drugs. The responsible authorities are:
Each community safety partnership is required to undertake an audit of crime, disorder and drug issues in the local area. This should highlight the particular issues which are relevant and important to that area. There is then a statutory requirement to consult on the findings of that audit, with partner agencies and with the public. This process of consultation should act as a check that the audit is a fair and accurate representation of local issues and that there are no major omissions.
Based on the audit and consultation, each community safety partnership then produces a strategy outlining how they intend to tackle crime, disorder and the misuse of drugs in their district/borough. This strategy must include an action plan and targets.
The seven district crime, disorder and drugs audits are available to download by clicking on the links below. In addition to this, a Leicestershire County Summary report has been produced and the crime audit for Rutland County Council is also available here.
The crime, disorder and drugs audits are available for the following districts and county:
