Quality of Life Indicators

(Please Note: as of 1st August 2007 telephone numbers within these reports have changes from 0116 26X XXXX to 0116 30X XXXX)
The Audit Commission has compiled a recommended set of indicators which, taken together, are intended to give a general view of the quality of life within a given area. The indicators are intended to help local authorities and partner agencies to identify key quality of life issues to inform the development of local community strategies and also to monitor the impact of actions within them.
The indicators are also seen as a useful tool to foster partnership working between agencies to tackle cross-cutting quality of life issues, facilitate comparisons between different areas, paint a picture of and monitor changes to quality of life and to involve the public in discussing how to improve quality of life in the future. The figures have been collected in relation to Leicestershire following the Audit Commission definitions, datasources and timescales as closely as possible.
