Population Projections
Source: National Statistics (ONS) Subnational 2004-based projections October 2006
Note: projections assume a continuation of past trends, (in this case for 1999-2004). 2004-based Subnational population projections to 2029 (broken down by age and gender) are available for leicestershire districts from the Office of National Statistics published October 2006. They are trend based, which means assumptions for future levels of births, deaths and migration are based on observed levels over the previous five years and show what the population will be if recent trends in these continue. ONS have now revised the information on trends and revisions will be published after the end of September 2007. The projections do not take account of any prospective policy changes. The data is available by following the link below:
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/statbase/ssdataset.asp?vlnk=9483&More=Y (These may not necessarily represent the most realistic prediction of the future. Further details are available from National Statistics.)
