The Lord-Lieutenant’s Award for Young People 2012

The Lord-Lieutenant’s Award is now accepting nominations!
2012 will be a time for a double celebration as the UK welcomes the world for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the 30th Olympiad, and the nation commemorates The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. To mark this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the Lord-Lieutenant’s Award for 2012 will take these events as its inspiration and will reflect the ‘inspirational’ qualities and achievements of young people in sports, community life and innovation. Nominations are sought in the following categories:
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Inspired Awards
1. Young Community Citizen of the Year Award 2012
2. Young Innovator of the Year Award 2012
The 2012 Spirit of Sport Awards
3. Young Volunteer in Sport Award 2012

Past Awards and Winners….

Last years’ award winner, Amy Turlington said: “The awards are a great idea. It really shows that, despite what people might think, there are young people who are making such a positive difference to their communities. It was great to be recognised
by the award and I would encourage anyone to nominate a young person they know who is doing something extraordinary.”
