Charges for Equipment and Adaptations

Our information and advice is free.

Equipment

Any equipment we provide is on long term loan, available for as long as it is needed and for as long as it continues to meet the requirements of the person for whom it was provided. Examples of equipment we can provide include; chair and bed height raisers, toilet seat raisers, grab rails, bath equipment etc.
Direct Payments may also be available to purchase your own choice of appropriate equipment.

Adaptations

Minor adaptations for example steps and small ramps are provided free of charge.
The Disabled Facilities Grant which funds more extensive adaptations is means tested so you may be assessed as being able to pay towards the cost of some larger home adaptations. Further details on seeking funding for adaptations are available by contacting your district council.
