Breaking the Barriers

What is Workstep?

It is a government programme that supports people who have experienced accident, injury, illness or disability into paid work and offers practical help to employers.

How is Workstep provided?

It is managed and funded by Jobcentre Plus.
The Breaking the Barriers Team is one of a number of organisations who are contracted to deliver the Workstep programme in Leicestershire.

What does Workstep do?

  • It identifies the most suitable job with you
  • It gives you support to find and apply for the job
  • It gets you ready for the job
  • It gives you and your employer support in the job

Who can help me with this?

A Breaking the Barriers  Employment Development Officer would work with you if Workstep was the best way for you to move into a job.
