General Information |
Independent Living Aids and Gadgets - Assistive TechnologyThere is a wide range of technology available to help people to continue to live independently:
Aids and Equipment for memory loss![]() Signal ** promotes the use of equipment to assist people with memory loss, and their carers, to help manage some of their practical difficulties and minimise risks. Equipment includes such things as calendar clocks to help with orientation, medication prompters, water overflow alarms. Aside from simple, stand alone items, Signal promotes devices that link into community alarm services, such as alarms on doors, fall detectors, smoke detectors. Careful use of equipment such as this can assist people with their day to day activities, keeping them as safe and as independent as possible, and provide support for carers in their caring role.
