General Information |
Mental Health ServicesThese are some of the services we may be able to arrange for you, depending on your assessment. Some may be provided by the Social Care Services; others by private businesses or voluntary organisations.
Some services are free such as the Assessment, advice and information from Social Care offices and many other organisations. Other services, like home care, a place in a residential home or hostel, will depend on what benefits, savings or income you have. If people have been in hospital under the Mental Health Act, they may receive services such as day care, home care and transport, free of charge. See Charges for Social Care for more information.
Support Services
Help and AdviceWe may be able to provide you with specialist therapy and support for you and your family or carer.
We can provide contact addresses and phone numbers for Counselling Services, arranging an Advocate, local self help groups, support groups or drop-in centres.
We can also give advice on how and where to claim any Welfare Benefits available.
If you are interested in returning to work after an illness, we can help you through the Breaking the Barriers Employment Service.
We can also provide details about Alternative Providers of Care, homes, hostels and flats and advice about the best alternative for you.
If you are worried about the welfare of someone with mental ill health or are concerned they are being abused, please see the Safeguarding Adults pages.
