How We Can Help

After an assessment Social Care Services can:
Food
Provide help for you and your family or carers at home with things like:
  • shopping
  • cooking
  • getting up and getting ready to go out
Finding activities together
Support you in finding something to do during the day like:
  • getting a job
  • doing some voluntary work
  • going to college
  • joining fun activity groups
Support at home
Support you to decide where you want to live now and in the future.
This might be:
  • living in your own home with some help
  • living with other people who have a learning disability
  • living with another family
Money
Make sure you are getting the right money and benefits.
We can also give you advise on looking after your money.
A family
Giving people with learning disabilities and their families or carers a break from each other.
This could be staying in a hostel or with another family for a few days.
It can even include someone staying or looking after the person in their own home.
