Our Actions

We will improve our regular monitoring of home care services that are being provided. In particular we will see:
  • How many different care workers visit service users;
  • If care workers are told about changes in service users’ care plans;
  • If care workers receive the training they need.
We will meet regularly with home care providers to identify things that are being done well and the things that need improving.
We will increase the number of volunteers recruited to work with older people in their own homes. This will increase the social contact that people have and reduce loneliness.
We will increase the number of older people receiving Direct Payments.  Direct Payments is the option for people to buy the services they need using money provided by Leicestershire Adult Social Care Service. Direct Payments aims to give people more choice and flexibility in the services they receive.
