Our Commitment to Our Customers

What does it mean?

Our commitment to customer care means that we are committed to providing the best social care services we can, to people who need or use our services.
We are here to help you and to provide professional services that are consistent, reliable, personal and responsive to your needs.
This page sets out our standards for caring for you.  

Our responsibilities to you

We will:

  • treat you with respect;
  • be polite, fair, friendly and helpful;
  • listen to what you have to say;
  • treat you as an individual by giving you the service you need;
  • take personal responsibility for helping you;
  • provide a range of ways to help you use our services; and
  • keep your information safe and secure at all times, in line with the Data Protection Act 1998, the Human Rights Act 1998 and common law.

Equal opportunities

We are committed to providing all of our customers with equal access to services.

We will:

  • give you advice and information about our services that is clear and easy to understand;
  • give you information in whichever format you ask for (for example, in languages other than English, in Braille, in large print or on audio tape);
  • and arrange for an interpreter or a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter for people who need it.
