Leicestershire Children and Young People's Service Executive

The  Leicestershire Children and Young People's Service Executive is a small group of senior officers, chaired by the Director of the Children and Young People's Service. The Executive is accountable to the Leicestershire Children and Young People's Board and has responsibility for:
  • formulating and implementing decisions for the Board
  • performance management and the implementation of the Children and Young People's Plan, the children and young people's block of the Local Area Agreement and supporting high level strategic plans
  • planning the development  and commissioning of services
  • performance monitoring and management of improved outcomes for children and young people
  • resource management
  • overseeing the work of short life task groups
  • ensuring that the safeguarding of children and young people underpins all activities
  • actively promoting equality of opportunity for local children and young people.
