Community Alarms enable people to call for help by using a telephone, or pendant alarm. They
- Allow you to choose who will be contacted to help you - usually close family, friend or next of kin
- Are an emergency link to a 'round the clock' control centre that holds your contact details
- Are available to people over 55 in any type of accommodation
- They are usually already available in sheltered accommodation. If not, approach the provider
- Private house owners should contact their local district council or go directly to private suppliers
- Charges vary according to supplier, financial support may be available
