
Mental Health Services
If you are experiencing issues with your mental health a wide range of services are available to support you and your carer and to help you recover if possible and get your life back on track.
Services are provided by Leicestershire County Council, the NHS and voluntary organisations.
- Urgent help now includes sources of immediate help and support in a crisis
- Mental health social support includes Social Drop in, Befriending and Inclusion Support Services
- Emotional health includes a range of services and information about managing your emotional health
- Support into Employment includes a range of services and information about getting into paid or voluntary work and improving your skills
- Personal Budgets provide flexible longer term support where you are in control of how you are supported
- Home care for help with day to day living in your own home
- Occupational Therapy for help with practical difficulties at home
- Community Meals for meals delivered to your home
- Transport for help with travelling to receive services
- Advocacy services offer help and support to people to represent their interests and speak up for themselves
- Carer’s support groups and development workers hold regular meetings where Carers can share their worries and experiences, feel supported, and help to support others
- Mental health carer’s short breaks provide support for people to give carers a break from their caring responsibilities
- Dementia / Alzheimer’s carer’s short breaks provide support for people suffering from Dementia / Alzheimer’s Disease to give carers a break from their caring responsibilities
- Support in the Workplace helps carers to understand their employment rights and access support to speak up for themselves
- Residential Care Homes and Nursing Care Homes are where a number of people live together, supported by care staff who are available 24 hours a day
First of all you should contact your local GP who will work with you to decide on the best course of action.
Some services require an assessment, whereas others can be accessed directly by contacting the provider of the service.
