NHS and Health

The NHS has become the world’s largest publicly funded health service. It works to improve health and to provide care to those who need it.

The money to pay for the NHS comes directly from taxation and the NHS provides more than 1.7m people including hospital doctors, general practitioners (GPs), nurses and  ambulance staff.
