Independent Residential and Nursing Care for Older People
Leicestershire County Council would like to take this opportunity to thank all those
people that took the time to provide feedback on the Independent Older Persons Residential and Nursing
Care consultation, your views are important to us and have been considered to help us shape future services.
Consultation - Ended 19th October 2010
Feedback from consultation was presented in a report to the County Council's Cabinet
on the 14th December 2010
Information gathered has been evaluated and used to inform the new contracts and
service specifications (this information is given to those providing care to help them tailor their
services to people’s needs) .
The information has also been used by us to develop a Quality Assessment Framework
(QAF). The introduction of a QAF has help us to demonstrate that providers have robust practices in
place to ensure individuals are well cared for and have a good quality of life. This ensures services
are available to be purchased from independent sector older people’s residential and nursing homes that
are of a high standard and that these providers of care are able to meet and maintain high quality of
care within Leicestershire
