Geoff Broadway
LifeCycle (Future and Dreams)
LifeCycle was a multi-screen audio-visual installation exploring the themes of change and transformation as they are understood and experienced by a range of people who live and work in the Coalville area.
Alongside these recorded conversations and portraits, I have been filming aspects of everyday life in the Coalville area. The final installation will be created through combining these different elements into an accessible audio-visual portrait of contemporary life in the Coalville area. The final installation will be presented in the historic Century Theatre in Snibston in May 2011.
More about the artist
I am a multi-disciplinary artist who works with sound, light, video and photography and often shows work as an installation. I have been an independent artist practicing for 20 years and have worked nationally and internationally, participating in high-profile artist residencies and have undertaken a range of public commissions and short-term teaching positions.
My current installation To Be Home is currently on show in Birmingham, UK, and explores the challenges of community life in the local areas of Handsworth and Stirchley.
