Details: The Vale of Belvoir lies within the most northerly part of Leicestershire between Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire in the borough of Melton. Melton has become famous
for its food production. In the early 19th centuries its distinctive pork pies and hunt cake were popular with the huntsmen who came from all over the country to hunt foxes across the area's open countryside. Melton
is also the home of Stilton cheese with its distinctive creamy texture and rich blue veins. From its basis of traditional food production the area has developed and diversified and is now home
to the East Midlands Food and Drink Festival and has become the Rural Capital of Food. Along with many other local food producers belvoir fruit farms are an East Midlands success story; and their Belvoir cordials, made
from local fruit, flowers and spring water. Themes: Working Life Find
