Oct 22nd. The Queen’s at Ascot. Rain at last. Coventry out, & very small field. Uncarted an untried one near Star Cross. Ran with a rattle 20 min. Stopped hounds by Sandhurst, on again crossing the Blackwater to the right of the station, & running a big left handed ring Black Bushes way & so back Heaven knows where to Farnboro’ Station where I left them. Raining all day and good fun. Rode Skene Dhu Peregrine

Oct 25th. The Queen’s at Ascot. Uncarted at Gravel Hill. Ran vey fast towards Broadmoor, then by Wishmoor X, a left handed ring to the Jolly Farmers. Thence leaving Bagshot on the right, but crossing road & rail near the Cricketers by Windlesham, thro’ all sorts of gardens & boudoirs, & took under the railway on Chotham Common. Sharp white frost. Wind S.W. Rode Skene Dhu

Oct 29th. The Queen’s at Ascot. Uncarted at Caesar’s Camp. Ran a racing left handed horseshoe of 35 minutes without a falter, to the paddocks & let the deer in. Left off at 11-35 am. Had only a s----chase having waited for “beauty in distress”. Rode Peregrine
