Group Visits

Group tours of the award-winning Hallaton Treasure Gallery at Harborough Museum can be booked in advance of your visit.  

The tour includes an overview of what was found during excavations of the Hallaton shrine and how archaeologists have interpreted the evidence from this internationally significant site. Knowledgeable staff will be happy to answer any questions about this mysterious 2000 year old find.

If you are visiting Harborough Museum why not also take the opportunity to visit the village where the Treasure was found? The beautiful village of Hallaton is just 9 miles from Market Harborough and is home to Hallaton Museum.  

Hallaton Museum features another treasure exhibition, “Rituals, Hoards and Helmets” which tells the exciting story of how the treasure was discovered by local amateur archaeologists.  

Hallaton Museum is free to visit from Easter Saturday to the end of September. Opening times are 2.30- 5.00pm, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

These 'walks and talks' are designed to help visitors appreciate the history and architecture of Hallaton. They take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes depending on the size and walking ability of the group. The museum is opened as part of the tour.

This involves a circular walk of approximately 1 mile.
The walking is mostly easy, part road, part pasture but with a short climb to the top of the hill. Strong shoes needed.

Cost: £2.00 per person.
