What do we do?
The
Friends
of the Manor exists to:- keep its members in touch with developments at Donington and around Leicestershire County Museums;
- support the further development of the Manor House through fundraising;
- give active support to events, lectures and exhibition launches drawing on the knowledge and expertise of the Friends;
- help to research the history of the building, the gardens and their locality.
What the Friends have
done recently to support the work of the Manor House:
- we have just purchased an outdoor personal address system with radio microphone etc.
- we have given practical support to most events, usually by dressing in appropriate costume, as well as by using our knowledge and enthusiasm for living history;
- we raised £10,000 towards the cost of a recent major refurbishment of the Manor House;
- we have established a craft group which meets monthly to share and celebrate Tudor crafts;
- we have grown plants for use at the Manor House and sold additional plants to raise funds

What does membership of the Friends offer?

- contact with the Manor House via a quarterly newsletter which highlights events and news.
