British Legion Women’s Section Badge

Royal British Legion Women's Section Badge
We need your help with this.
Mr Noel Wakeling from Mountsorrel RBL Branch handed us this badge during the course of our project on the history of the Legion in Leicestershire and Rutland.  All he knows about it is that it dates from before 1971, when the Legion added ‘Royal’ to its title, but we have no more information than this.  We don’t know who it belonged to, or even if it was worn by a local member of the Women’s Section.  Has anyone seen another badge like this?
The badge is made from a light metal, probably tin, and measures just over 1 inch across.
If you can help us with more information about the badge, we’d be delighted to hear from you (email recordoffice@leics.gov.uk or ring 0116 2571080).  The badge itself is now in the care of Leicestershire Museums service.
