Heritage, Local and Family History

Steeped in History, Leicestershire is rich in heritage resources - a major battlefield, period buildings, archaeological sites of interest, historical records along with an extensive museums’ and natural history collections.
The Museum service is home to a vast repository of local and family history resources to help with research. It also holds an abundance of information and records about the local historic and natural environment.
Experienced staff offer free advice on planning, community grants and support relating to the local historical and heritage environment.
