Library Lettings - from 1 April 2011
Staff Costs

No Charge
- County Councillors' Surgeries;
- Use by organisations whose accommodation is funded by LLS
- Use by voluntary organisations to provide public advice and consultation;
- Use by voluntary organisations and other non profit making bodies to provide classes and other activities at no charge to the public:
- to support lifelong learning, reading or literacy
- for the study of local and family history
- Where the public area of the library is used (rather than a separate room) by a non profit making organisation for a purpose which is in alignment with the County Council's Corporate Objectives;
- Where use is initiated by or is in partnership with LLS.
Criteria for Inclusion: Organisations must be -
- non-profit making
- community orientated, supporting the needs of individuals and groups in relation to: lifelong learning; health; social welfare; citizenship; economic well-being; the environment; culture; religion; recreation; personal development.
Use within this Group would include:
- Clubs, societies and other local groups;
- Government, local government and other official bodies;
- MPs' surgeries;
- Voluntary and other non-profit making organisations for any use which falls outside of Group 1;
- Charities and other organisations for fundraising activities. Except where an admission fee is charged - Group 3 applies.
- Use by voluntary organisations and other non profit making bodies to provide classes and other activities for which a charge is made.
- All performances (music, drama etc), festivals and exhibitions which are open to the public and for which an admission charge is made (excluding library initiated activities);
- Social activities of any organisation ( except racialist organisations-) irrespective of Grouping;
- All other use of libraries by profit making organisations and other bodies where there is no specific approval for free use or preferential rates.
