As a member you can choose from a huge range of fantastic services available in libraries across Leicestershire. Whatever your age or interests there’s something for everyone. From the latest best sellers, to finding and booking your dream holiday or even delving into your family history - your library has it all!
Join online or in person!
Join Online - If you are 16 or over, you may fill in the application form online. A temporary borrower number and PIN will be emailed to you. (PIN is a personal identification number to enable use of library PCs and online services.) You can search our online catalogue , place up to 5 reservations and use our online reference services immediately.
You will need to collect your permanant library card from any County library in order to complete your membership and have full access to our services. Your temporary borrower number will expire after 3 months.
Make sure you bring some identification, when you collect your library card. If you are under 16 you will need to come into the library and have a guarantor.
Your library card is needed each time you borrow items from the Library. If you lose your card, contact the library as soon as possible. Replacements will be issued for a small charge and we will need some identification. Don't lend your card to anyone else, as you are responsible for its use.
- Driving Licence
- Building Society passbook
- NHS Medical Card
- Benefit or pension book or similar official document
- Gas, electricity, telephone or water bills
- Council tax letter or payment book
- Bank statement
- Passport
- Valid bank card, credit card or charge card
The following are not acceptable: Electoral register, personal letters, other documents which can be obtained without formality.
Books

FREE books for all tastes and all ages – fact and fiction. Borrow up to 12 books per visit and keep them for up to 3 weeks. Choose from talking books, books in different languages and in large print. Renew or reserve your books by phone, on-line, or in person.

Available for all ages and abilities. Enjoy FREE use of computers with broadband Internet and e-mail. Your library has help for beginners plus a range of available courses.

Music & Films
|
Choose from a great range, including the latest releases, to hire for a small charge. Search anytime using our online catalogue. *at available libraries only

Access to Information
|

Join in the activities and events in your library and make new friends at local community events, reading groups, informal learning sessions, family learning events, and coffee mornings – many are FREE!
