Join the Library

Anyone can join, however young, and it's FREE
As a member you can choose from a huge range of fantastic services available in libraries across Leicestershire. Whatever your age or interests there’s something for everyone. From the latest best sellers, to finding and booking your dream holiday or even delving into your family history - your library has it all!

Join in person or online!

Join Online - If you are 16 or over, you may fill in the application form online. A library card and PIN will be sent to your home address. (PIN is a personal identification number to enable use of library PCs and online services.)
OR
You may obtain an application form in the library or download it here - Application form (PDF) to bring with you to the library. Make sure you bring some identification, and you will receive your card right away. If you are under 16 you will need a guarantor.
Your library card is needed each time you borrow items from the Library. If you lose your card, contact the library as soon as possible. Replacements will be issued for a small charge and we will need some identification. Don't lend your card to anyone else, as you are responsible for its use.

Acceptable identification

  • Driving Licence
  • Building Society passbook
  • NHS Medical Card
  • Benefit or pension book or similar official document
  • Gas, electricity, telephone or water bills
  • Council tax letter or payment book
  • Bank statement
  • Passport
  • Valid bank card, credit card or charge card
The following are not acceptable: Electoral register, personal letters, other documents which can be obtained without formality.
