Winner Announced
'Bill’s New Frock' by Anne Fine
“Bill’s New Frock”, the story of a boy who wakes up one morning to discover he has turned into a girl has been voted the winner of the third Leicestershire Children’s Book Prize.
Anne Fine was presented with her award for the Leicestershire Childrens Book Prize at St Edwards C of E Primary School.

Young readers aged 7-9 throughout the county voted for their favourite title from a shortlist of 6 exciting books which were selected to reflect the Olympic and Paralympic values.
The runners up were:
2nd Little Manfred by Michael Morpurgo
3rd The Boy with the Lightning Feet by Sally Gardner
The books were promoted in Leicestershire libraries and schools throughout the autumn term and are all available to read through Leicestershire Libraries
