How and where to park
Everyday, thousands of motor vehicles drive around Leicestershire and at some point they may need to park. Although the majority of motorists will park in designated parking spaces, a small but significant number park in contravention of the traffic regulation order.
Parking on double yellow lines, in a bus lane, across cycle lanes or in residents' parking bays, even for a few minutes, can cause inconvenience and even danger to other road users. As from March 2011 Penalty Charge Notices may also be issued for parking across a dropped footway and double parking
It is hoped that by enforcing parking regulations more rigorously motorists will be more inclined to park safely and legally. This will therefore reduce the inconvenience and danger placed upon safe parkers and road users every day.
