Bethany and Kira have worked extremely hard this year. They were chosen for their originality, creativity and business like approach. Just one example of their achievements is the after school charity event they organised to raise money for Brake (the road safety charity). Congratulations to Bethany and Kira who won an activity day at Quorn Hall for their whole class.

Congratulations also go to our runners up who won a family ticket to Snibston Discovery Park. They are:
  • Measham St Charles Catholic Primary School
  • Grace Stewart, Anna Hopkins and Charlotte Haigh – Fantastic JRSO newsletter and hedgehog cress potatoes.
  • Stathern Primary School
  • Jacob Hughes, Fiona Johnstone and Fleur Ellingworth – Well presented Power Point presentations and popular road safety club.
  • Thurlaston Church of England Primary School
  • Carina Barber and Amy Thorne – I particularly liked your eye catching notice boards covering our road safety theme each half term.

Pedal Power for JRSOs and their class mates

Twenty-one Burbage Junior School pupils, aged 10-11 years, celebrated after pedalling their way to road safety success.
All completed their level 3 ‘bikeability’ course and are the first in Leicestershire to do en masse. Cabinet member Lesley Pendleton, Road Safety tutor Simon Huckle and Head teacher, Richard Harris joined in the celebrations at the school and praised the children for preparing for safe cycling and being equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to remain safe on Leicestershire roads.
