Specialist high friction surfacing applied to the road surface to provide greater skid resistance.and deter vehicles from skidding on approaches to roundabouts to reduce loss of control accidents. Cost (£) For a typical scheme, installing 50-55 metre section of anti skid surfacing, would cost in the region of £5000 to £10000.

Used for various purposes but normally installed to highlight points where pedestrians may be crossing the road and to deter parking on footways and verges. Cost (£) Costs can vary but range from £150.00 to approximately £300.00.

This can take the form of a set or various sets of carriageway narrowings which allow two way traffic flow or give priority to drivers travelling in a certain direction, (see priority narrowing). Used to break traffic flow and reduce speeds. Cost (£) A chicane with associated signing and road markings costs around £12,000.
