Loughborough Town Centre Transport Scheme

On 26 October the Transport Secretary announced that a fund of over £600M will be available for a pool of local authority projects that can be taken forward.

The Loughborough scheme has been included within this pool and the Department of Transport will be conducting further analysis on the scheme before inviting the County Council to submit a funding bid in Autumn 2011. (Click here to go to the DfT Webpage).(pdf, 88Kb)

The government have said that suitable schemes will be selected by the end of 2011; if chosen the Loughborough scheme will receive entry onto the government programme and progress to the next stage in the design process.

The DfT has advised that the Secretary of State will not be able to announce his final decision on the statutory Orders until the final funding decision has been made.
