Loughborough Town Centre Transport Scheme

The County Council intends to commence the legal process required to construct the Loughborough Town Centre Transport Scheme by 2011.

Subject to Cabinet and Government approval, it is intended to progress to the next stage in developing the transport proposals for Loughborough town centre with the publication of the Compulsory Purchase, Side Roads and Traffic Regulation Orders in the new year.

These Orders will allow the County Council to acquire the land needed to construct the scheme and make alterations to the traffic patterns and adjoining road network.  Construction work is programmed to start in late 2009 and the associated town centre improvements will follow in 2010, with completion scheduled for mid 2011.

The cabinet will consider a report at 2:30pm on Friday 23rd November 2007 (item 13).
