The Park and Ride site is now open.
The Enderby Park and Ride site opened to the public last week (16th November 2009).
The joint City and County Council scheme offers low-emission buses running every few minutes in to Leicester city centre and aims to reduce the number of cars on the road.
Earlier this month, the park and ride scooped a prestigious eco award at the regional Constructing Excellence Awards and this was announced in the press
The new Enderby site, close to junction 21 of the M1, has parking for 1,000 cars.
Buses run every fifteen minutes into Leicester city centre from 7am to 7pm, Mondays to Saturdays. Stops include St. Nicholas Place, St. Peters Lane and Belgrave Road.
Opening day at the new park and ride site

The Enderby park and ride site opened last Monday 16th November 2009 with the first bus leaving at 7am.
The adjacent picture and below show the park and ride service being used by passengers on the opening day.


To mark the opening of the park and ride a fun day was held with special guests.(See adjacent picture and below)
Passengers were given reusable bags containing timetable and fare information about the park and ride service and booklets of promotional vouchers.
