A47 Earl Shilton Bypass

The southern end of Station Road (Earl Shilton) and Wilkinson Lane was closed to through vehicular traffic on 27th May 2008. This closure will allow Severn Trent Water to divert a sewage rising main under Station Road, and re-locate the existing pumping station which is on the line of the new bypass adjacent to Station Road/Wilkinson Lane. Access to properties will be maintained throughout these works. Wilkinson Lane, to be permanently closed under the bypass proposals, will not re-open.

The construction works that were undertaken during the closure of Elmsthorpe Lane are now complete and the road was reopened to traffic and pedestrians on 22nd May 2008.
