The Proposals

The road safety measures are proposed to reduce speeds to a more acceptable level and to provide safer pedestrian facilities, particularly for vulnerable road users such as the young, elderly and disabled.

Scheme Objectives

  • Reduce vehicle speeds.

Scheme Details

  • Central hatching with white lining, extension of existing 30mph speed limit with associated enhanced signing and lining.
  • Sheltered parking with kerbed build-outs and white lining and re-location of existing refuge.
  • The extension of existing prohibition of waiting restriction.
  • Refuge with associated carriageway widening (subject to further detailed investigation of services).
  • Kerbed build-out at the existing pelican crossing.
  • An advisory 20mph school safety zone.fronting Grove Primary School.
