Safer Travel for Parents

Our aim is to ensure that your child is as safe as possible on the journey to and from school.  By providing them with the knowledge of potential dangers and how they are expected to behave we hope to promote a sense of responsibility for their own safety.

Talk to your kids

To help re-enforce our message of the importance of safe and responsible travel on the school bus we would ask that you talk to your child about safe travel on the school bus.
  • Waiting sensibly at the bus stop.
  • Always wear a seatbelt, where provided.
  • Stay sitting down and face forward for the whole journey.
  • Keep the noise down.  Don’t distract the driver.
  • Be aware of other traffic when getting off the bus and cross the road in a sensible place.
  • Always carry a bus pass.

Report your concerns!

Safer Travel have recently set up an online reporting form where pupils, parents, school staff, bus drivers and members of the general public can report any concerns with regards to behaviour and safety issues on any of the county’s school buses.  All reports are treated in confidence and we promise to deal with the problem as efficiently and effectively as possible.
To report any unacceptable behaviour on a school bus visit our online reporting form by clicking on the link below.
Alternatively, you can speak to one of the members of the team directly.  If you have any comments or queries please don't hesitate to contact us.
